A Mother's Blessing

n the early days of the apparitions a young Croatian girl had been attending prayer meetings by one of the Medjugorje visionaries. She spoke German fluently and loved Our Lady very much. Going up the Hill of Apparitions, she attended a visit by Our Blessed Mother to Ivan, who explained the message to those gathered there. Coming down the hill she met a group of German pilgrims, and they asked if she spoke German. "Yes" she replied. "Please tell us the message Mother gave on the hill". While she was relating the message she noticed a young man making his way towards her. His eyes were blazing with anger and she felt he was going to harm her. What shall I do, she said to herself. I know, I will give him Mothers Special Blessing, which she did. The man changed direction and went off down the hill.

The next day she went to the Croatian Mass and met this same young man. He recognised her and told her his story.

"I am a doctor from Germany. Three years ago I was possessed by Satan and I came here to Medjugorje where I was delivered. Going back to Germany I fell in with my former friends and again became entangled with Satan. My situation was worse than before. I returned to Medjugorje hoping to be freed from Satan's bonds. When I came down the hill yesterday I saw you and I was determined to kill you. Then something happened. What did you do? When I went home I could not sleep. I tossed and turned all night through. I felt the Heavenly Father's presence inviting me to go to confession. In the morning I found a priest and asked him to deliver me from Satan's grip. Thanks be to God I am free again. Tell me, what did you do yesterday. One moment I was determined to kill you, the next I felt I loved you. What did you do".

"I gave you Mother's Special Blessing". "What's that". She explained that Our Lady said that this is not my Son's Blessing which is given by the priest, but this Blessing is my Blessing, and it carries with it the grace of conversion to help you in your difficulties. The Heavenly Father becomes present to that person and remains with them until they die. You don't have to say special words, just simply "I give you Mothers Special Blessing". You don't have to tell the person you have given it, and you can give it to anybody in the world. For myself I say "I give you Mothers Special Blessing, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen" Once you have received it you can confer it on any individual person, but not to a group, and you can give it as often as you desire. The remarkable effect of this blessing is shown in the example I have related, and it shows one of the many graces that have come to us from Medjugorje.
